Man United wonderkid Kobbie Mainoo is once again attracting attention, with Napoli reportedly ready to resurrect their interest in the midfielder this January.
The 20-year-old put in a request to leave Old Trafford on loan in the last few days of the summer transfer window due to limited chances under Ruben Amorim.
United turned Mainoo down, instead insisting that he remain at the club and fight for a place in their beleaguered midfield.
A string of clubs both domestically and abroad remain interested, however, with Antonio Conte’s Napoli leading the chase.
According to ESPN, the midfielder’s move to Napoli was already ‘mapped out’ only for Man United to turn their offer down at the last minute.
The report adds that the Italian side are ready to ‘resurrect’ their interest in Mainoo and bring him to Naples in January, although United will need to sign a suitable replacement to make it work.
