Fiorentina fans gathered at the training ground to both encourage and threaten their players ahead of the clash with ‘enemy’ Juventus.
The Viola run the very real risk of relegation, as they sit just five points clear of the drop zone going into this weekend.
That puts extra pressure on the players when taking on arch-rivals Juventus at the Stadio Franchi.
Fans are still not allowed into the stadium, so hundreds gathered at the training ground instead with banners and chants that ranged from encouragement to threats.
The largest read: ‘An enemy to be taken down, safety to be achieved. Fight like lions or get out of our sight.’
The general tenure was a call for Fiorentina to ‘grow some balls’ and battle for their Serie A status, with warnings of what might happen should the team be relegated to Serie B.
Director Joe Barone came out to speak with some of the ultras, who asked to send a message to the team that they have a whole city behind them.
