The father of Tigre striker Matteo Retegui says he has turned down an offer from Udinese.

On-loan from Boca Juniors, Retegui has been named in Italy's squad for their Euro2024 qualifiers next week.

He has been linked with AC Milan and his father, Carlos, told TMW: "With Milan we don't have never had contact, but we still spoke to various Italian, English, Spanish and German clubs.

"I confess that Udinese looked for him in January, but Mateo is very close to Tigre and thus decided to stay. El Matador believed a lot in him.

"My son dreams of playing in Europe one day, but today he's focused solely on the present. His registration belongs to Boca Juniors and Tigre has the possibility of buying 50% of him, so an agreement will need to be found with both clubs to take him."
