Fiorentina have lost German Pezzella for three weeks after he underwent successful surgery on a cheekbone fracture yesterday.
Pezzella had to be replaced by Federico Ceccherini after only four minutes during the 1-0 defeat against Hellas Verona last weekend.
The club has announced that the injury required surgery and the defender has undergone a successful intervention on Tuesday.
He is now expected to be out for 20 days, meaning he will miss the matches against Lecce, Torino and Inter in Serie A, plus the meeting with Cittadella in Coppa Italia next week.
Fiorentina are currently 10th in Serie A before welcoming Lecce to the Artemio Franchi in Florence this weekend.
