As many as four Barcelona academy products have departed the club either on loan or permanent transfer in January.

Carles Perez left to Roma on loan, but with an obligatory purchase option in the deal for 11 million euros plus 3.5m euros in variables.

Meanwhile, Carles Alena joined Real Betis on loan until the end of the season and Abel Ruiz is signing for Braga also on a loan deal, but with a 10m euro compulsory purchase clause.

Lastly, Alejandro Marques has left to Juventus in exchange for 8m euros, as he wasn't part of the Xavi Garcia Pimienta's plans for Barcelona B.

The Blaugrana also attempted to offload Monchu to Valencia as a makeweight for a potential Rodrigo Moreno move to the Camp Nou.

This January has become something of an exodus for academy products at the club.

Despite the four La Masia products' departures, Quique Setien has called up Alex Collado to train with the first team and he is also counting on the team's prodigious midfielder Riqui Puig.
