Udinese coach Luca Gotti has claimed the Friuli are ‘bitter’ about leaving the San Paolo empty handed, having 'deserved' a point against Napoli.

Napoli forward Matteo Politano scored the winner deep into added-time at the San Paolo to hand the hosts a 2-1 win against the Bianconeri.

“This adds up to other similar endings that leaves us bitter because the team had a point in their hands and obtained it with great merit,” Gotti told Udinese’s official channel. “[David] Ospina did very well to keep out [Kevin] Lasagna and the crossbar denied us the lead through [Rodrigo] de Paul.

“It’s clear that we are bitter in these moments but, on the other hand, I see that all the players are giving everything, and it makes me happy to see. What more could I ask for?”

The Friuli are without a win in three games and face Juventus in their next match and could have to cope without Brazilian midfielder Walace against the League leaders.

“Now we need to lift our spirits and build our fortunes ourselves, without waiting for good news from the other matches,” Gotti added. “We just hope the medical report will give us good news and that Walace hasn’t been affected by any problems tonight.”
