When Lucas and Theo Hernandez were playing together on the streets on Marseille as young boys, neither of them would ever have imagined that one day they'd be lining up alongside each other to represent their country.
On Thursday, however, the unimaginable became reality in the Nations League semi-final against Belgium.
"It's a proud moment and a pleasure to be here with my brother," said Lucas Hernandez.
"When you're young, you can imagine playing together professionally, but representing your country together is a dream."
The move from Didier Deschamps to start the pair down the left side paid off as Theo scored the late winner in a 3-2 victory for Les Bleus.
The Hernandez brothers aren't the first footballing siblings to represent their country together, however.
The Hazard brothers
The match between Belgium and France nearly saw two sets of siblings playing together internationally.
Thorgan Hazard was injured in the lead up, however, and couldn't take to the pitch with his brother Eden.
The two Hazards both played in the 2018 World Cup and last summer's European Championships as well as spending time together at Chelsea.
The Milito brothers
The two Argentine stars played together for the national wide at the 2007 and 2011 Copa America, but not at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
Diego Milito was a striker while Gabi played central defence and they even played against each other in the Argentine league.
Gabi represented Club Atletico Independiente and Diego played for Racing Club de Avellaneda - two clubs with a massive rivalry - and also played together at Real Zaragoza later in their careers
The Toure brothers
The two brothers played together for the Ivory Coast where they made up part of a golden generation alongside legendary striker Didier Drogba.
They played together in their home country at club level for Abidjan and Mimosas before Kolo moved to Arsenal. Yaya went to Olympiakos, Monaco and Barcelona before the two finally played together at Manchester City for three years.
The Neville brothers
The two defenders Phil and Gary learned their trade in Manchester United's youth sides along with David Beckham, Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs before breaking into the first team in 2006.
Phil moved to Everton and Gary then retired in 2011, but they represented England together at the 1996, 2000 and 2004 European Championships but not at a World Cup.
The Dos Santos brothers
The Mexican stars both came through at Barcelona and represented their country together at two Gold Cups, the 2017 Confederations Cup and the 2018 World Cup.
Giovani and Jonathan had spells together at Villarreal as well as LA Galaxy in the MLS.
The De Boers
These are often the first names that come to mind when you think of footballing brothers.
Both Frank and Ronald played for the Netherlands together at the 1994 and 1998 World Cups and the 2000 European Championships.
They also linked up at Ajax, Barcelona, Rangers and Al Rayyan.
The Altintop brothers
Both broke through at Wattenscheid 09 and made their names together at Schalke in 2006.
Halil went to Kaiserslautern and Hamit moved to Bayern Munich and then Real Madrid.
They played for Turkey together but never qualified for a major tournament.
The Laudrup brothers
These two never played together at club level but did both represent Brondby and Ajax.
Both Brian and Michael did share a pitch with the Danish national side, though, playing at the 1996 European Championships and the 1998 World Cup.
Curiously Michael didn't win the 1992 European Championships despite being one of his country's greatest ever players, while Brian did.
The Lukaku brothers
These two played together at the 2016 European Championships for Belgium but Romelu is the better known of the brothers and a regular for Roberto Martinez.
Both came through at Anderlecht with Romelu moving to England to make a name for himself while Jordan has predominantly played in Belgium apart from his current spell at Lazio.
The Koeman brothers
The current Barcelona coach started his career with his brother Erwin at Groningen.
The brother subsequently took different paths with Ronald moving to Ajax and his older tother to PSV Eindhoven.
They represented the Netherlands together at the 1988 European Championships and the 1990 World Cup.
The Charlton brothers
The two siblings never played together at club level, with Jack making his way at Leeds United and Bobby plying his trade at Manchester United.
They shared a pitch with England at 1966 and 1970 World Cups as well as the 1968 European Championships.
