Houssem Aouar in talks with Roma and Frankfurt ahead of Lyon departure

Laurent Blanc’s arrival on the Lyon bench back in October saw the out-of-favour Houssem Aouar’s playing time increase slightly, albeit not to the point of returning to the starting lineup on a regular basis. As a result, his future is now set in stone – the midfielder will leave his formative club on a free transfer this summer.

According to RMC, the ex-France international – who has now opted for Algeria moving forward – is currently in talks with three clubs, all from separate leagues: Eintracht Frankfurt, Roma, and Real Betus. He has yet to make a definitive decision, with the respective teams’ aspirations for a spot in Europe reportedly a key factor. The Bundesliga club put forward an offer a few weeks ago.

Fabrizio Romano adds that Roma’s bid involves a five-year contract, and that talks with the Giallorossi are at an advanced stage, while Eintracht Frankfurt are on standby for the player’s decision.
