Dean Huijsen’s father and agent, Donald has opened up on former Juventus manager Thiago Motta and his treatment of his son.

Huijsen's £50M move to Real Madrid this summer marked a remarkable rise for a defender who was struggling to get in the Bournemouth team seven months earlier under manager Andoni Iraola.

Juventus had sold the 20 year old defender to the Premier League side just a season before, and his father Donald is still confused over Juventus’ motives.

He’s spoken to TuttoSport about his son’s journey to La Liga giants, which shows how brutal the Italian side were.

"It was a real shock. We couldn't believe it, we were shocked. It was bad, too bad. A dark day. Terrible. A bolt from the blue. But why? We wondered, unable to understand, the reasons for the forced separation."

He added: "Dean was wonderful in Turin, he speaks excellent Italian, he was appreciated and well-liked by everyone. From the staff to his teammates, from the entire Juventus world to the warehouseman.

“Giuntoli was categorical and Motta was brutal when they told him he would no longer be part of the project and that he had to leave, that he was no longer allowed to train with the first team."

Huijsen couldn’t compete against the physical nature of the Atlético Madrid forwards in their 5-2 defeat this weekend in a loss that may highlight why Juventus let him go.

Real Madrid’s next game is on Tuesday when they take on Kairat Almaty in a game where Huijsen could be rotated as he tries to improve defensively.
