Inter striker Mauro Icardi has been named the Serie A Player of 2017-18, voted by his peers in the Italian Players’ Association.

The 25-year-old received the most votes from members of the AIC (Italian Players’ Association) in this evening’s Gran Gala’ del Calcio ceremony.
He was joint-Capocannoniere with 29 goals in 34 Serie A appearances, on a par with Lazio forward Ciro Immobile.
While both strikers were in the Serie A XI of 2017-18, Icardi received the most votes and took home the ultimate prize.
