The results of a survey carried about by the Swg agency about the future of the San Siro stadium and the thoughts of a new stadium for Inter and AC Milan has been published in a report in today's paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Milanese paper commissioned the survey in order to gauge the publics thoughts on the ongoing situation. The report details how the general consensus was a no to the demolishment of the existing San Siro stadium, but a yes to the construction to a new stadium for the Milanese clubs, a similar position to that of the City's mayor Beppe Sala, who told the clubs the same in a letter yesterday.

63% of respondents were in favour of the idea that the Milanese clubs should build a new stadium, the report highlights, an idea that both Suning and Elliot understood and were happy to invest €1.2 billion in order to bring to reality, but the clubs clearly misunderstood what else the people wanted.

59% of respondents opposed the idea of demolishing the historic San Siro, with only 25% of respondents agreeing with the position of Inter and AC Milan. This shows that there is a strong emotional bond with the existing stadium, an idea that both clubs must understand.
