Jose Mourinho could not resist another dig at Tottenham as he geared up to end Leicester's dreams of reaching a European final.

Mourinho's Roma side will be roared on by 72,000 supporters expecting victory after a 1-1 draw at King Power Stadium last week.

A year to the day since he was announced as Roma boss, Mourinho recalled his dismissal by Spurs last season, days before they left took on Manchester City at Wembley in the Carabao Cup Final. City won the game 1-0.

'The only match I want to win is the next one - even more so if that's a semi-final,' said the Portuguese.

'If you win it gives you a right to play the final - if you are not sacked before the final.

'It's not just the next match, it's a special match. It's been a long run for us, a different run than Leicester's, our run was the Europa Conference League since day one and day one was very, very difficult.

'So, 14 matches later we have the chance to play the final and we have to do anything we can.'

He replaced Paolo Fonseca ahead of this season and has guided Roma to fifth in Serie A as well as a European semi-final.

He said: 'I'm enjoying it very much. I'm happy every day I come to the training ground. Do I want more? Yes I want more. Do I want next season to be able to think bigger? Yes.

'I knew the project, the nature of it and I am loving sharing every day with the players. They want to grow up, I'm with them, I try to give everything I have. The work has been so hard for all of us, I think we deserve to end the season with something to celebrate.'
