Jose Mourinho's reign as Roma boss is already showing cracks after just 90 DAYS following Inter loss

Roma's hopes of being considered one of Italy's top clubs this season took a severe blow following their humiliating defeat by Simone Inzaghi's Inter Milan on Saturday night.

Yet perhaps the most worrying aspect of their 3-0 reverse was that, a team led by Jose Mourinho - who has only been in charge for 90 days - has begun to show signs of structural deficiencies and a lack of character.

Saturday's defeat demonstrated that no remedy from the Portuguese boss is immediately forthcoming, having still failed to implement a style of play and continuing to make all the wrong tactical decisions which have highlighted a lack of knowledge of the opponents.

Roma have a brainless midfield, a defence without grit and an attack without charisma, and it will be difficult to pick the team up after a defeat which has caused real shame among the fanbase.

The hosts were given a harsh lesson by Inzaghi and his men at the Stadio Olimpico and, with no sign of turning the game around, any hope of a possible reaction from Roma and avoiding a fourth defeat in six league games diminished quickly.

Fans in the Curva Sud (the club's famous south stand) demonstrated their anger during Roma's heavy defeat by starting to whistle and launching insults at the team with chants such as 'you need to grow a pair' at the end of the first half.

A bizarre mix of deafening whistles for the players on the pitch - that have perhaps forever stained the relationship between Mourinho and the fans - and simultaneous cheers and applause for Roma legend Francesco Totti sat in the stands filled the stadium.

When Roma lose, they can never seem to manage to limit the damage and the physical strength and psychological advantage shown by their opponents over the course of the 90 minutes makes them suffer terribly.

Roma were abysmal against the Serie A champions, handing the visitors the match without themselves ever bothering Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic.

Eldor Shomurodov was unable to create problems for Inter's defence and the justifications provided by Mourinho for his team selections are no longer accepted by the fans who see the team fall further behind the top four every week.

At the Stadio Olimpico no one has ever been used to seeing such a dramatic collapse from 11 players representing their side, instead playing with an absence of desire, fight and determination.

All the players made a mistake in how they approached the game, piling further pressure on the club, and their Friedkin family owners.
