Liverpool legend Ian Rush has shared a picture alongside Sir Alex Ferguson and said he's happy to see the former Man United coach in 'good health'
The picture, which was presumably taken during Liverpool's 4-0 win over United on Tuesday, shows the former Reds striker standing with Ferguson, Kenny Dalglish and David Gill.
In his caption, the 60-year-old spoke of his joy to 'catch up' with the legendary coach following Ferguson's health scares in recent years.
In a Twitter post on Thursday, Rush wrote: 'Good to catch up with Sir Alex Ferguson and to see him in good health'.
Ferguson has battled with illnesses for a number of years, following his emergency surgery for a brain hemorrhage in 2018 - leaving him in intensive care for a number of days.
A documentary titled 'Sir Alex Ferguson: Never Give In' was released in 2021 which included interviews with the family, doctors and former players of the Scotsman and detailed how difficult his recovery would be.
Ferguson spoke of his fear about life after surgery and admitted he was 'terrified' that he may lose his memory - including his experiences with Man United.
The 80-year-old left an indelible mark on football history after winning 13 Premier League trophies, five FA Cups and three Champions League titles across his 27 year tenure in charge of Manchester United.
Former Manchester United chief executive David Gill was also pictured in Rush's post. The 64-year-old stepped down from his position in 2013 and was replaced by the executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward.
Gill was seen as a major part in Ferguson's success at Old Trafford and called quits on his career at United just months before the Scotsman did.
Kenny Dalglish, who scored 172 goals in all competition for Liverpool, was also pictured in Rush's Twitter post.
The two Reds legends watched on as Mohammed Salah grabbed a brace to keep Liverpool's title hopes alive and crush any remaining top four chances for the visitors.
Luis Diaz and Sadio Mane rounded off the scoring for Jurgen Klopp's side as they moved one point behind league leaders City.
