Kalidou Koulibaly called Mauro Icardi recently in a bid to convince the Inter striker to join Napoli, according to Corriere del Mezzogiorno.

Carlo Ancelotti and Lorenzo Insigne have already been in contact as the Partenopei go all out to secure the Argentine’s signature.

Aurelio De Laurentiis has promised Inter either €60 million plus bonuses in cash or €25 million plus Arkadiusz Milik.

Icardi was offered an annual salary worth €6.5 million and the chance to keep all his earnings from his contract with Nike in Argentina, in an exception to Napoli’s policy of owning all their players’ image rights.

Maurito is ‘reflecting’ on Napoli’s interest at the moment, with the paper describing this week as ‘decisive’ for the transfer.

De Laurentiis is trying to take advantage of Juventus’ inactivity with the 26-year-old to make a signing that would improve the quality of Ancelotti’s squad even further.Icardi has two weeks to leave Inter or he faces an entire season on the side-lines in Milan.

Antonio Conte has excluded him from every preseason friendly and will not let him take part in tactical exercises at Appiano Gentile.
