Fabio Liverani insists Lecce will face Napoli “the same way we have done other teams” after a surprise victory over Torino.
“Napoli are fresh from a wonderful Champions League victory over Liverpool, but we will face them the same way we have done other teams,” said the Coach in his Press conference.
“We need patience to soak up pressure and be ready to strike when we have the chance. It’s crucial to defuse their collective mechanism. If we leave space on the wings, we’re bound to run into huge difficulties.
“We cannot allow Napoli to run into space and that means we have to double up the marking. The only way to limit Napoli is by remaining solid.”
Lecce caused a huge upset on Monday evening, beating Torino 2-1 at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino for their first points of the season.
“I will make some changes, seeing as we have three games in a week with the midweek round. Khouma Babacar is improving his fitness levels, although he does need to be pushed to give his best. It is possible we’ll see him in the starting XI tomorrow. Giannelli Imbula is also getting better, but is not yet ready to start.”
