Liverpool boss Klopp: We know there was pressure on Nunez and Gakpo

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is delighted with the goalscoring of Cody Gakpo and Darwin Nunez.

The pair scored two each in Sunday's historic 7-0 rout of Manchester United.

Klopp said, "You don't put pressure on the players - never did and you never do.

"But that doesn't mean that there is none. As we know, the world can be an intense place - especially when you cost a lot of money. A lot of headlines written.

"For Cody, it obviously went really quickly, We were hoping for that. You never know 100% but we were hoping for that. We liked the game he played and contribution now is obvious. Same for Darwin. Super important.

"Scouting can never be perfect but I'm really happy with the development."

He also said: "There is no better mood booster than a good game.

"Of course I see that but we had consistency in the league in the last five games. We have spoken a lot about confidence - it's a fragile little flower and we have to make sure we keep that.

"You don't expect to score from every situation but we have to create in this manner and use all the little situations. For all goals [against United] we had options in the box.

"That's what we take and that's what we try to recreate. So many games to play. We have to chase pretty much everybody and that's what we'll try to do."
