Liverpool target Fekir attracts interest from Juventus (L'Equipe)

Liverpool fell agonisingly short of completing a deal to sign Nabil Fekir last summer.

The midfielder was even pictured holding a Reds shirt before his transfer fell through and he stayed with Lyon.

According to L'Equipe , the Anfield club are still interested in making a summer move to bring the playmaker to the Premier League.

Fekir looks set to depart the Ligue 1 side and recently parted company with his agent in a bid to find someone who can get a move over the line.

Yet the French newspaper say Jurgen Klopp will face competition from Serie A giants Juventus as they eye a major summer spending spree.

Fekir's contract at Lyon expires in 2020 and president Jean-Michel Aulas is set to cash in to avoid losing the 25-year-old on a free transfer.

Lyon asked for €70million for Fekir's services last summer although Juventus are understood to be keen to land him for a lower price.

They have already secured a deal to bring Aaron Ramsey to the Allianz Stadium and are eyeing more big signings to help them mount a real challenge for Champions League glory next season.

Manchester City are also said to be interested in Fekir, meaning Liverpool will face plenty of competition if they do decide to pursue their long-time target once again.

The France international has enjoyed another strong season for Lyon, who sit third in the Ligue 1 table.

He has scored nine goals and registered five assists in 26 appearances this campaign.
