Luciano Spalletti: 'Nainggolan out, Icardi recovered'

Inter coach Luciano Spalletti talked to Sky Sports ahead of tonight’s Serie A clash at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome against Roma.

The former Roma coach began by stating that: “The team is doing fine, because against Tottenham they did what they had to do, we processed the defeat very well. We came back late to Milano due to some travelling problems but we will be back at the top.”Will Nainggolan play?“No, he is out. He got hit on the ankle and after compensating for that during the game he suffered a muscle strain.”Icardi walked off Wembley limping?“A classic small hematoma, but he has already recovered.”

It will be a tough challenge at Olimpico“Rome is a strong team, during the last couple of championships they have scored a lot and last year they almost made it all the way to the Champions League final. They play a modern football and is coached by one of those coaches that is good for the football.”

Will you say hi to Francesco Totti?“Unfortunately I have not read the book, because I want to read it calmly without other things affecting me. From what I have read in the newspapers there are some things that need to be clarified. But if I meet him I will say hello. I spent many years with Roma, some moments I did wrong but I have always tried to do what was best for the club and I still have many nice relationships from that time.”The words from the father of Lautaro Martinez caused a stir?

“When you attack me, all that is accomplished is problems created for Inter, but above all for the boy. A top player like him does not need to be defended. He has his own strengths and should not be treated as a child. He will show how much he loves this club.”
