'Lukaku & me care more about team' - Lautaro praises teammate for selflessness

Lautaro Martinez praised teammate Romelu Lukaku for his selflessness and assured Inter “are proving we can have our say in the Champions League.”

Toro bagged a brace and Romelu Lukaku scored his first Champions League goal for Inter, even though the Belgian had two disallowed by VAR, in a 3-1 win at Slavia Prague.

That victory means the Nerazzurri have their fate in their own hands going into the final game with Barcelona (who are already sure of first place) at San Siro.

Barcelona have 11 points, Inter and Borussia Dortmund 7, Slavia Prague are out with just two.

Inter have a superior head-to-head record with the Germans.

“I always say it doesn’t matter who scores, as long as the team gets the goal and wins,” Lautaro told Sky Sport Italia.

“We work every day to help create that unity off the field and on it. Romelu is a great guy and we really get along, we both care more about the team than our own goals.

“We made a lot of progress since the Borussia Dortmund game, where we dominated the first half and fell away. We’re proving that we can have our say in this Champions League and believe we can reach the Round of 16.”
