Silva linked with Milan move
Manchester City may have been handed further funds to complete a move for Harry Kane, with rumours that Bernardo Silva has agreed personal terms with Italian giants AC Milan.
As per Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur, there is confidence that an agreement will be reached between the two clubs for the departure of Silva from the Etihad, with the Athletic having previously reported that the Citizens had set a price of 60 million pounds on the Portuguese international.
Silva was on the bench for the Premier League opener against Tottenham, but played the full game in City’s 5-0 demolition of Norwich last weekend, despite seemingly wanting to depart the club.
Will Milan be able to find the cash?
No movement on Kane deal
While the above deal could add some much needed funds to City’s push for Kane, for the moment there has been no movement on the deal.
The potential move has been rumbling on all summer, but as we head into the final week of the window, it seems as though it may not happen, with Kane set to remain a Tottenham player at present.
In the dying days of a transfer window, however, things can move very quickly.
Laporte could yet stay
Meanwhile, Aymeric Laporte is a player that looks set to stay at Manchester City this season, despite favouring a move away earlier in the summer. However, the Spanish international is, as per Sam Lee, “Barring a strange and unexpected turn of events… expecting to be a City player this season and is focusing solely on that scenario.”
Despite being ousted by John Stones last season, Laporte started the resounding win over Norwich, and Guardiola has already confirmed that the 27-year-old centre back will start the game against Arsenal on Saturday.
Could this be the beginning of his Manchester City redemption
