Varane announcement inbound

Manchester United are due to complete their second major signing of the summer, with Raphael Varane following Jadon Sancho through the doors at Old Trafford. The Frenchman has been quarantining in England ahead of an official announcement.

As per transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, Varane has now successfully completed the second part of his Manchester United medical, and has signed his contract in Manchester, keeping him at the club until June 2025, with an optional additional year.

All that remains is for Varane to hold up the famous red shirt.

Ole hints business isn’t done

Meanwhile, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has suggested that the club may not be finished in the transfer window just yet. The north-west side have been linked with a move for Kieran Trippier, as well as central midfielder, although both rumours have gone cold in recent weeks.

Speaking to Football Daily, however, the Red Devils boss, when asked about the rest of the window, cryptically replied:

“Anything can happen, we’ve got to be ready”

Could there be yet more incomings at Old Trafford this summer?

Red Devils dealt Haaland blow

As per the Daily Express, Manchester United have been dealt a hefty blow in their hunt to sign Borussia Dortmund forward Erling Haaland next summer. The Norwegian will almost certainly be departing the Signal Iduna park at the end of the season, with a release clause inserted into his contract becoming active at that point.

He is sure to have no end of suitors either, although Chelsea may rule themselves out of the race with the signing of Romelu Lukaku, and Barcelona may not be financially able to compete for the young star.

If the Express is to be believed, however, it is Barcelona’s rivals Real Madrid that Haaland has his eye on, with the report claiming that Haaland has told Los Blancos that he wants to join the club next summer, in what would be a hefty blow to Manchester United.

The Red Devils will certainly need a forward next season, with Edinson Cavani’s contract due to expire. However, it may not be Haaland.
