Kostas Manolas confessed Roma “are not playing like a great team” and “lost to an inferior opponent” in Viktoria Plzen.
The Giallorossi were beaten 2-1 by Viktoria Plzen in the Czech Republic, although they had already booked their spot in the Champions League Round of 16.
“We conceded two avoidable goals and are not playing like a great team,” Manolas told Roma TV.
“We cannot concede goals like this if we want to go far. The fact the game was irrelevant isn’t the point, as we must always go out there to win. We lost to an inferior opponent. It’s tough, we need to find the courage to get back on track.
“I can’t explain what is going wrong here. We always try out things in training, but then can’t get them to work in a match situation. Perhaps we lack courage.
“We’re now so far away from the top spots in Serie A, we just need to beat Genoa and find the right mentality.”
