Mbappe booked for blatantly trying to score with his hand in Reims clash

Kylian Mbappe bizarrely got himself booked on Wednesday night after blatantly scoring with his hand during PSG's 3-0 win over Reims in the Coupe de la Ligue.

Thomas Tuchel's men cruised into the final thanks to Marquinhos' opener, an own goal from Konan N'Clomande and a third from Nianzou Kouassi to wrap up the semi-final win.

However, with the game said and done, Mbappe decided to pick himself up a yellow card for handling the ball into net in the 90th minute.

The incident came after Mbappe played the ball inside to Neymar, who struggled to get the ball out from under his feet, before a small scramble saw the ball roll in front of an empty net.

In the midst of the scramble, Mbappe tried to reach the ball but was brought down by Reims defender Axel Disasi.

Without hesistation, the 21-year-old leaped towards the ball with his outstretched arm and swiped it into an empty net, prompting protests from the opposition.

With a clear view, referee Mikael Lesage immediately ruled the goal out before booking Mbappe for the unsportsmanlike behaviour.

The PSG striker saw the funny side of it, though, just seconds before his side could celebrate reaching this season's Coupe de la Ligue final.

Paris Saint-Germain will go on to face Lyon in April's French League Cup showdown.
