There are growing reports Milan are working to fire Coach Gennaro Gattuso and replace him with Roberto Donadoni.
The Rossoneri tactician’s position was put back in doubt after a last-gasp 1-0 defeat to Inter in the Derby della Madonnina.
More than the result, it was the performance, lack of initiative and overly-negative approach that reportedly irritated the Milan hierarchy.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport and Sportitalia, director Leonardo is particularly eager to wield the axe on Gattuso and bring in a more experienced tactician.
It’s claimed Donadoni is the favourite, a free agent after his contract with Bologna expired over the summer.
Like Gattuso, he is a former member of the squad that won every trophy and represents the old-school Milan image.
Sportitalia even go so far as to suggest Riccardo Montolivo and his agent are helping to push the club towards choosing Donadoni.
