Luka Modric will win the Ballon d'Or, according to Spanish media Cadena SER.
Modric, 33, is the favourite to end Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi's dominance of the award, which one of the greats has won in each of the past 10 years. The last winner outside of the superhuman pair is Kaka, the Brazilian playmaker who won the prize in 2007.
The Croatia captain led his nation to the World Cup final after helping Real Madrid win the Champions League in 2018.
Modric was crowned UEFA Player of the Year & The Best FIFA Men’s Player 2018.
The winner of the coveted prize is set to be announced on December 3 in Paris.
