Match Report
Following Inter's 1-0 defeat to Roma earlier on Sunday, Antonio Conte's side took advantage to move three points clear at the Serie A summit with four matches remaining.
Sensing the opportunity to capitalise on the Nerazzurri's slip-up, Napoli took just seven minutes to break the deadlock, with Frank Anguissa cutting the ball back for McTominay to bundle home.
Torino should have been level three minutes later, but Che Adams could only blaze over the bar from five yards out.
It proved costly for the visitors as the hosts doubled their advantage four minutes before half-time, as McTominay met Matteo Politano's low cross to poke past Vanja Milinkovic-Savic for his 11th goal of the season.
Substitute Philip Billing almost added a third when he headed against the crossbar in the 62nd minute, but the Partenopei comfortably saw out what could prove a huge three points in their quest for a second title in three years.
11 - #McTominay scored 11 goals in the current league, more than any other player in a single Serie A campaign (overtaken Law in 1961/62); before him, the last midfielder able to score 10+ goals in a single Big-5 campaign was Charlie Adam in 2010/11 (12, Blackpool). Data Debrief: History-making McTominay surpasses Law and matches Hamsik
McTominay was Napoli's hero once again, as he took his tally for his maiden Serie A campaign into double figures (11).
Opening the scoring, he became only the second Scottish player to score at least 10 goals in a single Italian top-flight season after Denis Law in 1961-62 (10).
Then, by doubling his side's lead, he became the highest-scoring player from his nation in a single campaign.
McTominay is one of only two Napoli midfielders this century to score at least 10 goals in a Serie A season, along with Marek Hamsik (four times).
The former Manchester United player is also the first Scottish midfielder to score 10 or more goals in a single campaign in the big five European leagues since Charlie Adam netted 12 for Blackpool in 2010-11.
