Napoli are in advanced talks with Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa over a new contract.

The Cameroon international and former Fulham midfielder has proved a first-choice for Napoli coach Antonio Conte this season.

Conte has spoken highly of Anguissa, while also insisting he has another level to reach in his game.

Napoli intend to raise Anguissa's deal worth €4m-a-year - which places him only behind Romelu Lukaku and Kevin de Bruyne in terms of the club's highest paid, reports TMW.

Meanwhile, Serie A chief exec Luigi de Servio recently paid tribute to Anguissa, stating: "If there's one player who embodies the concept of a 'box-to-box player' right now, it's certainly the Cameroonian.

"His defensive intensity, his overwhelming physical strength, and his innate ability to run into the opposition's penalty area have made him a key player in Napoli's successes in recent years.

"Thanks to his three crucial goals in October, Anguissa doubled his Player of the Month award from last January, allowing the Azzurri to extend their tally of clubs with the most Player of the Month awards, reaching 12 in seven seasons."
