AC Milan announce that Olivier Giroud has signed a one-year contract renewal with AC Milan.
The 36-year-old’s deal was due to expire at the end of this season.
Giroud has been a mainstay at Milan since his arrival from Chelsea in the summer of 2021, making 76 appearances and scoring 27 goals.
The Frenchman’s form in this season’s Champions League has been particularly impressive — his opening goal in the second leg of Milan’s quarter-final against Napoli on Wednesday night was his fifth in 10 games. Giroud’s goals have helped Milan reach the semi-finals of the Champions League for the first time since 2006-07.
He also played a big role in Milan’s Serie A title win last season, registering 11 goals and four assists in 29 league appearances.
Giroud previously played for Chelsea and Arsenal in the Premier League, having featured for Montpellier, Troyes and Grenoble in his homeland.
Milan return to Serie A action on Sunday when they host Lecce. Stefano Pioli’s side are fourth in the table, two points ahead of city rivals Inter.
