Alessandro Pio Riccio will wear the Sampdoria jersey.
It is official: the 2002-born defender has been transferred permanently and will play for the Blucerchiati starting from the 2024/2025 season. This will be Riccio's second experience in Serie B, following a successful loan spell at Modena last season, where he made 24 appearances.
A Juventus player since 2016, Alessandro grew up wearing our colors, from the Youth Sector—where he also won a Scudetto in the Under-15 category—to the Next Gen team, with which he made 58 appearances and, on several occasions, wore the captain's armband.
During his years with Juventus, Alessandro did not make any official appearances for the First Team, although he was called up. The first call-up was under Andrea Pirlo's management on October 28, 2020, for the Champions League group stage match against Barcelona at the Allianz Stadium.
Now, Alessandro will reunite with Coach Pirlo on the Sampdoria bench, along with Nikola Sekulov—his teammate from the Juventus Youth and Next Gen teams—to begin this new adventure together.
Good luck for the future, Ale!
