After the arrivals of Loftus-Cheek, Christian Pulisic and Luka Romero, Milan also announced the signing of Tijjani Reijnders, the new Rossoneri midfielder. The Dutch footballer arrived from AZ Alkmaar, in the past few hours had arrived at Linate and then supported the medical examinations for his new club.
The midfielder is Pioli's 5th signing of the summer, following from Sportiello, Luka Romero, Loftus-Cheek & Pulisic.
Born in Zwolle on 29 July 1998, Tijjani grew up in the Twente Youth Sector, a team with which he played until 2015 and then returned for a season at PEC Zwolle where he debuted in the First Team on 13 August 2017 (Zwolle-Roda JC 4-2); the following season he moved to AZ Alkmaar where he played two championships with the Under 21 team before making his debut in the First Team. In the Eredivisie he has 105 appearances with 9 goals and 11 assists. On 29 May 2023 he was called up for the first time in the senior national team for the Nations League Final Four.
Tijjani Reijnders will wear the number 14 shirt.
Accoding to Romano, Milan pay €20m plus add ons to AZ. Also sources reveal that he will receive €1.7m per year salary.
