Sassuolo have officially purchased striker Francesco Caputo from Empoli at a reported cost of €7.5m plus the loan of two youth players.
The centre-forward turns 32 next month, but scored a very impressive 16 goals in 38 Serie A games last season.
‘Ciccio’ Caputo spent his entire career bouncing around the lower divisions, with spells at the lines of Salernitana, Bari, Siena and Virtus Entella.
He moved to Empoli in 2017 for €3m and was instrumental in their promotion to Serie A.
Caputo is the second Empoli player to join Sassuolo this week after midfielder Hamed Junior Traore.
