Jacopo Sala has officially signed a two-year contract with Serie A newcomers Spezia, arriving as a free agent from SPAL.

He becomes the first player that Spezia have secured since earning promotion via the play-offs.
The 28-year-old right-back was a free agent following his experience at SPAL, while his previous clubs include Chelsea, Hamburger SV, Verona and Sampdoria after coming up through the Atalanta youth academy.
A statement from Spezia confirms Sala has tested negative for COVID-19, so can already begin training individually this afternoon, joining his new teammates from Monday.
Spezia are also expected to sign Hajduk Split defender Ardian Ismajli at a cost of €2m.
