According to a report from French news outlet L’Equipe, Paris Saint Germain intend to take up the option they have to sign loan-star Mauro Icardi on a permanent basis from Inter at the end of the season.
The current Ligue 1 leaders and reigning French champions acquired the 26-year-old Argentine national striker on a season long loan deal from the Nerazzurri on transfer deadline day of the Summer transfer window and also obtained an option to turn his stay permanent for a sum of €70 million as part of the deal.
PSG director – and former Inter manager – Leonardo has intended to make the most of the option ever since agreeing the deal with his former employers.
Icardi, who left Inter after a lot of turmoil, particularly off the pitch, has got life in the French capital off to a flyer with him having scored five goals in six appearances across all competitions.
