Sevilla forward Papu Gomez said he doesn’t watch some Atalanta games ‘because they bore me’, but admitted his heart ‘remains in Bergamo’.
The Argentine completed a transfer from the Orobici to Sevilla in January and signed a deal until June 2024.
Gomez’s controversial exit was caused by a clash with coach Gian Piero Gasperini and the former captain said he misses the city of Bergamo.
“I miss the city,” he told DAZN. “There are some Atalanta games that I don’t watch because they bore me, while for others I get nostalgic.
“I lived in Bergamo for seven years and my heart remains there. I miss the walk in the upper part of town and going out to eat with my friends.”
The 33-year-old has played 14 times in La Liga for Sevilla and has contributed two goals and one assist in the process.
