Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has laughed off speculation that his latest hairstyle is pointing to a Juventus transfer.

Pogba, 28, has one year left on his contract at Old Trafford and club chiefs are concerned he could run down the remaining 12 months before leaving for free next summer.

The Red Devils reportedly offered the Frenchman as part of a swap deal for defensive target Raphael Varane only for Real Madrid to reject their approach.

Juventus are regarded as the other key suitor for Pogba and there have been suggestions in the Italian media that his latest hairdo is hinting at a return to Turin.

Pogba is just as charismatic off the pitch as he is with the ball at his feet and has had many different looks over the years.

His latest hairstyle features black and white dye, the famous colours of the Bianconeri, where he spent four glittering seasons between 2012 and 2016.

But Pogba simply declared his "hair changes often" when pressed on his appearance after France's 2-2 draw with Portugal on Wednesday night.

He told  Sky Sport Italia  : "Is the black and white hair a signal for the future? I was expecting this question.

"There is no future now, only the European Championship. The hair changes often."

Pogba was one of the standout performers in the stalemate with Portugal and a valuable point was enough for France to finish top of the so-called 'Group of Death', with Germany and Hungary also in the mix.

Les Bleus have a favourable last-16 tie up against Switzerland on Monday night and Pogba declared his side are "confident" of progressing.

He added: "This is a European Championship, it's a very hard competition, the goal is to go all the way.

"The group did not scare us. We were prepared, we knew we were facing these teams and we knew it would be difficult.

"We finished first in the group, which was the goal, now we have the next round and we are confident."

Pogba also lauded Karim Benzema after the Real Madrid striker scored both of France's goals against the reigning European champions.

The 33-year-old converted from the penalty spot at the end of the first half after Kylian Mbappe was judged to have been fouled in the area.

Benzema then added his second just two minutes after the interval to announce himself back on the international stage after a five-year hiatus.

"We are happy to have him in the team because he does exceptional things and scores goals," said Pogba of Benzema.

"We hope [Kylian] Mbappe and [Antoine] Griezmann do too, we know we have strong attackers who can make a difference. Now we are calm, will rest and think about the next match."
