Polish great Boniek: I understand Spalletti leaving Napoli

Polish great and UEFA vice-president Zibi Boniek is convinced Rudi Garcia is the right coach for Napoli.

Garcia oversaw victory over Udinese this week.

Boniek said on Radio Kiss Kiss: "I watch Napoli this year and I must say that they play well. If they hadn't missed the penalty in Bologna they would have won too.

"Winning like Napoli did last year was difficult if not impossible.

"(Piotr) Zielinski always plays well, then it can happen that every now and then there are periods of confusion. Piotr is an exceptional boy, he has a very strong character. How he touches the ball, no one does. Then he strongly wanted to stay in Naples and defend the Scudetto. In football repeating yourself is absolutely not easy, (Luciano) Spalletti may have sensed this fact and that's why he left early.

"Repeating yourself is a mentality. In Italy former footballers are out of the world of football, there is ostracism to involve former great players in the club."
