Former Inter star Alvaro Recoba says Antonio Conte will be no different from Luciano Spalletti without a Scudetto at the end of the season.
As a guest on the TV show Tiki Taka, the Uruguayan claimed Inter would feel the effects of the season more than their rivals as they went along, stating there was no point comparing the two squads.
“The Inter squad can’t be compared to Juventus’ right now. Two competitions will affect the Nerazzurri more with the squad they have now,” he said during his stint on Canale 5.
“A factor that may be decisive over 38 games is that they don’t have the depth of Juve. The passion of the Inter fans is surprising me. I can’t remember that passion.
“When [Alexis] Sanchez got injured, for example, there are [Sebastiano] Esposito and [Matteo] Politano. It’s not the same.
Recoba then asserted nothing would have changed at San Siro unless Conte ended the Nerazzurri’s 10-year wait for a Serie A title.
“Every time they make a [managerial] change, the players gain confidence. If Conte doesn’t win the Scudetto, he will be equal to Spalletti.”
