The Hale Ender is set to miss the remainder of the Gunners pre-season tour of the United States of America due to a foot injury he picked up in the Nurnberg clash

Reiss Nelson is set to miss Arsenal's pre-season tour of the United States due to a laceration on his foot football.london understands. The 23-year-old picked up the injury during the 1-1 draw with FC Nurnberg last Thursday.

The injury is not thought to be serious but it did require stitches. With this in mind the Gunners took the decision not to bring him out on their pre-season tour of the United States. They are hopeful of having him join back up with the group when they return to London at the end of this month. There is a good chance that he could make his return to the side in the Emirates Cup clash with Monaco on August 2.

"For me personally, I think the main one it just might sound silly, but it's just to stay injury-free," he told Arsenal.com. "I feel like once I stay injury-free and am available for the matchday squad, I feel like, the rest will kind of come into itself. I feel like with that you get into a rhythm, you get into the pace of the game and from there I can take the next steps."

Arsenal touched down in Washington D.C. on Sunday and conducted their first training session on Monday morning. They will take on the MLS All Stars on Wednesday, before travelling over to New Jersey to play Manchester United on Saturday. The tour will then round off with a match against Barcelona in LA on July 26.
