Salah: I'd prefer to play Real Madrid in the UCL final than Man City

Mohamed Salah has made it clear that he would prefer to face Real Madrid in the Champions League final over Manchester City.

Liverpool booked their place in the Paris showpiece on Tuesday night, and Salah was asked which team he wants to face on May 28.

"Yeah, I want to play Real Madrid," Salah told BT Sport.

"I have to be honest, Manchester City are a really tough team, we played against them a few times this season, but if you asked me personally I would prefer Real Madrid.

"We lost in the final to them... so I want to play against them and hopefully win it from them as well."

Salah's revenge against Real Madrid

The Egyptian is keen to get revenge after his side lost to Real Madrid in Kyiv in the 2017/18 Champions League final.

Goals from Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale led Los Blancos to a 3-1 victory and Salah hasn't forgotten that night.

Salah was forced off in the first half of that final with a dislocated shoulder that he sustained in a challenge with Sergio Ramos.

Yet another final for Liverpool

Liverpool have reached the Champions League final for the third time in five years and Salah told BT Sport of his delight at their achievement at full time.

"It's great to be in a [Champions League] final for a third time in five years, it's unbelievable," he said.

"We celebrate today and tomorrow is a new day and we'll just go from there.

"Today you have to enjoy it, we're in the final, you have to enjoy the moment.

"But then from tomorrow, it's a different competition, you can't lose the game to Spurs."
