Players and officials will wear a special shirt ahead of this weekend's Serie A matches to commemorate the victims of the Morandi Bridge tragedy in Genoa.

The highway bridge collapsed last week, killing 43 people and injuring a further 14.

Players will walk onto the pitch wearing shirts with the words 'Genoa in our hearts' and a drawing of a heart joining the two sections of the collapsed bridge.

The city's two main teams - Sampdoria and Genoa - postponed their opening matches last weekend.

Cristiano Ronaldo will be among the players wearing the special shirt ahead of the visit of Lazio to the Juventus Stadium on Wednesday evening.

Last week Genoa defender Domenico Criscito revealed he was driven across the Ponte Morandi just 10 minutes before it collapsed.

The former Zenit St Petersburg defender posted a video to his Instagram page before the disaster, showing his followers the awful weather conditions while he crossed the bridge as a passenger in his car.

The 31-year-old luckily escaped  before the disaster occurred and took to his social media page to reassure fans and send condolences to the victims' families.

'I write this message for all those who are writing to me, worried about me and my family,' Criscito wrote on Instagram.

'We're all fine, even though we crossed that bridge exactly 10 minutes before the collapse.

'My thoughts are with all the families of the victims, it's not possible for a bridge on a motorway to collapse like this - NOT POSSIBLE!

'We need to do something for this country, people flee because of these things. We need security, we need someone to do something. This is disgusting!'
