Tottenham vs Chelsea
One of the weekend’s marquee Premier League ties plays out on Sunday afternoon.
Said clash will see city rivals Tottenham and Chelsea face off in north London.
Chelsea head into the game having continued their fine, unbeaten start to the 2021/22 season by seeing off Zenit in a Champions League clash on Wednesday.
Tottenham, on the other hand, fell to a rather embarrassing 3-0 defeat at the hands of Crystal Palace this past weekend.
Said loss came on the back on Spurs’ superb start to the season, which saw them pick up three wins in three from the Premier League.
The Lilywhites were then in Europa Conference League action on Thursday, but were forced to settle for a 2-2 draw vs Ligue 1 side, Rennes.
As a result, Chelsea should be viewed as favourites for Sunday’s game based on the two side’s form and the fact they have had an extra day’s rest.
Kante & Pulisic updates
Ahead of Sunday’s game, Thomas Tuchel would speak to the press on Friday.
The German would discuss a number of topics in his press conference, including team news.
Both N’Golo Kante and Christian Pulisic would miss Chelsea’s win over Zenit in midweek.
However, when speaking on Friday, Tuchel delivered a mixed update on the pair.
Firstly, the former PSG boss stated that Pulisic is trying to come back as fast as possible, but is not in the squad to face Spurs.
Kante, on the other hand, is said to be in ‘full shape’ and ready to play:
“No fresh injury concerns. Christian is trying to come back as fast as possible but is not in the squad. N’Golo is in full shape and ready to play.”
