Torino boss Walter Mazzarri says his staff will try until the last second to get Andrea Belotti fit for their clash with Genoa.

The Granata are on a poor run of form at the moment, with only one win in their last five games, the last of which ended in a 3-0 home defeat to Inter.

“Against Inter we had 60 percent possession of the ball, but what we were missing was the right decision-making in front of their goal,” Mazzarri said at a press conference.

“We need to do better.”

The former Inter coach was then asked about Belotti’s condition, with a knee problem troubling the club captain.

“You know how important [Andrea] Belotti is for us. We will try up until the last minute to get him ready for the game.

“This week he didn’t train with the group, he trained alone. Tomorrow will be the final test.“

The Granata have conceded eight goals in the last four matches, but Mazzarri is retaining belief in his team.

“For me we are working well, we are all together, although it’s clear that we need to improve in our defensive play.”
