Your morning Tottenham Hotspur digest on Sunday, August 6.

Lenglet latest

According to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are keen to offload defender Clement Lenglet to Tottenham next week.

Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr were said to be interested in singing Lenglet but the player wants to stay in Europe. The French centre-back spent last season on loan in north London, with the Lillywhites reportedly still in the mix to make the move permanent in the coming days.

Kane update

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is yet to respond to Bayern Munich's latest Harry Kane offer despite reportedly being given a deadline of midnight on Saturday by the Bundesliga champions.

Writing in his latest exclusive column for CaughtOffside, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano said: "The bosses at Bayern wanted an answer to their new bid by midnight on Friday, but it never came, which has left the people in Munich not happy with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy. They remain confident of getting a deal done and will insist on bringing Kane to Germany.

"The conversation remains ongoing as of tonight and Bayern feel it can be handled over the weekend, but they are still waiting for Daniel Levy’s answer regarding the bid. At the moment, the reality is that the deal is still on but of course, it’s one to follow hour by hour."

Phillips signed

Spurs have announced the signing of Ashley Phillips from Championship outfit Blackburn Rovers.

The talented teenager has penned a five-year contract with the north London club in a move that cost Tottenham in the region of £2million. An agreement had been reached in July that would have seen the Lillywhites pay £3million up-front and a further £2million in adds-ons, however Blackburn pulled out of those talks and set a new asking price at £9.5m.

But that tactic ploy backfired with no bidding war starting and Spurs then able to activate a £2million release clause which came into effect on Friday.
