Erik Lamela has treated himself to a holiday in Formentera with his family after making his injury comeback against Fulham.

Lamela, who picked up a muscle injury on Tottenham's pre-season tour of America, has jetted off to Spain's Balearic Islands on a relaxing break ahead of the Premier League clash with Manchester United.

The injury-plagued Argentine - accompanied by his partner Sofia Herrero and son Tobias -  was pictured chilling out with his loved ones on a yacht before taking a dip in the clear blue sea.

Lamela appeared in very high spirits as he soaked up the sun during a rare break from his football duties.

The 26-year-old attacking midfielder decided to get away after overcoming his latest injury setback, which was picked up as he geared up for the new Premier League season.

Lamela, who missed 13 months of action between October 2016 - November 2017 with a hip problem, came on as a 73rd minute substitute for Eric Dier on Saturday against Fulham.

Mauricio Pochettino's side ran out 3-1 winners at Wembley following their opening day victory against Newcastle in the Premier League.

Lucas Moura, Kieran Trippier and Harry Kane got on the scoresheet against Slavisa Jokanovic's side.

Tottenham next face United on Monday night at Old Trafford before taking on Watford at Vicarage Road.
