Davide Zappacosta is set to return to Atalanta, completing a permanent €10m move from Chelsea.

the player will undergo his medical examinations with La Dea on Tuesday, according to reports.

Fiorentina were in advanced talks to sign the Italian full-back, but Atalanta have jumped to the front of the queue, making an offer to sign the player on a permanent deal.

Zappacosta will sign a four-year contract at the Gewiss Stadium and has already picked shirt No. 77, according to the report.

The 29-year-old returns to Bergamo for the third time in his career.

He first joined Atalanta in 2011 but failed to make his senior debut and only played with the Primavera team.

He collected three goals in 30 appearances at a senior level in 2014-15 before joining Torino.

Zappacosta made his senior Italy debut in 2016 and signed with Chelsea in 2017, completing a €25m switch from Torino.

He scored four goals in 25 appearances while on loan at Genoa last term.

Meantime, Inter are on the lookout for a new striker and Joaquin Correa is the priority target for Simone Inzaghi’s side.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the Nerazzurri will offer €30m to sign the Argentinean, but won’t wait more than two or three days to finalise the deal.

Therefore, if they fail to reach an agreement with Lazio by mid-week, they will pounce on different targets, such as Lorenzo Insigne and Gianluca Scamacca.
