Victor Osimhen has spoken frankly about the circumstances surrounding his departure from Napoli. In an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, the Nigerian striker explained that a video shared by the club mocking his missed penalty marked a breaking point.
He described feeling targeted, disrespected, and exposed to insults, including racist abuse, which made it impossible for him to continue working in a healthy environment, despite Antonio Conte’s desire to keep him.
Osimhen also confirmed interest from Juventus and other Italian sides, admitting that such calls naturally make a player think. However, he said Napoli’s refusal to facilitate a move pushed him to take control of his future.
Now settled at Galatasaray, the striker says he has found peace again and is fully focused on performing at the highest level, particularly in the Champions League, while maintaining respect for Napoli’s supporters.
