Patrick Vieira has terminated his contract with Genoa by mutual consent.
The Frenchman departs as head coach with Genoa sitting bottom of the Serie A table.
The former Arsenal captain and Crystal Palace manager took charge in November 2024.
BBC Sport reports Vieira initiated talks with Genoa chiefs on Friday and it was agreed in the evening to part ways.
A Genoa statement read today:
"Genoa CFC announces that Patrick Vieira is no longer the coach of the First Team.
"The club wishes to thank the coach and his staff for the seriousness and professionalism demonstrated throughout their work and extends best wishes for the continuation of their professional careers.
"Technical leadership of the First Team has been temporarily entrusted to coach Roberto Murgita, assisted by coach Domenico Criscito."
