Arsenal news: The Gunners defender is currently out in Cameroon after being confirmed to miss the remainder of the season
Arsenal defender William Saliba will not play for Mikel Arteta's side again this season. The Frenchman has missed the final two months of the season after sustaining a back injury against Sporting CP.
In his absence, the Gunners have suffered greatly. His importance to the team and Arteta's style of play has been highlighted in recent weeks, with Arsenal conceding 16 goals from nine games and losing grip on the Premier League title race.
With Arsenal having two games left of the 2022/23 season, focus remains on pushing Man City the distance for Arteta and the players available. But for Saliba, he has enjoyed a much-needed break in Cameroon this week and has been pictured with former Barcelona and Chelsea striker Samuel Eto'o.
Saliba has connections with the African nation due to his mother. He has used the trip to bond with fans in the country and has leaked next season's home shirt.
An image of the defender emerged on social media with him presenting a fan with next term's home shirt with Saliba's name and number on the back. The strip sponsors a gold look to it, with the famous Adidas three stripes plastered in the colour.
The club are yet to officially announce the new strip, though leaks have been doing the rounds online for a number of months ahead of its full release.
