USMNT star Pulisic has been one of Milan’s best players this season but was omitted from the staring lineup against Juve.
AC Milan take on Juventus in a heavyweight clash in Italy’s Serie A on Saturday but USMNT Christian Pulisic has a watching brief, at least from the beginning, for the game at San Siro.
There is significant American interest in the contest, with Yunus Musah also on the Milan roster, while Weston McKennie and Tim Weah are part of the Juventus team.
However, Musah and McKennie were the only two of the quartet named in the starting lineup, with Pulisic and Weah hoping to affect the game from the bench later on.
Pulisic has been one of the Rossoneri’s best performers so far this season, which would normally make his omission from the starting lineup a huge surprise. However, Italian media reported that he had missed parts of training after returning from the Stars and Stripes’ CONCACAF Nations League win over Jamaica, reported he was “not at his best” and may not be available to play.
Ultimately, ‘Captain America’ has only been deemed fit enough for a place on the bench. Milan and USMNT fans will hope to get a glimpse of the in-form attacker as the game progresses.
